Hosting
As a LSU student-athlete, you may be asked to serve as a host to a visiting recruit. Student hosts are expected to display responsible behavior in addition to abiding by applicable NCAA regulations.
At the discretion of your coach, you may be provided with the following:
A maximum of $40 for each day of the visit to cover entertainment for you and the prospect. If hosting more than one prospect, you may receive an additional $20 per day per each additional prospect.
Intended for expenses such as movie tickets and snacks
May not be used to purchase souvenirs (e.g., shirts, balls, etc.)
A maximum of three complimentary meals for each day of the visit (provided you are accompanying the prospect during the official visit).
Complimentary admissions to campus athletics events (provided you are accompanying the prospect to the events).
A few other reminders about serving as a host to a visiting recruit:
Use of a vehicle may not be provided or arranged by a coach, staff member or booster;
You may not allow the recruit to use or drive your car;
You may not transport the prospect or anyone else accompanying the prospect more than 30 miles from campus; and
Drugs and alcohol may not be involved in the recruiting visit (regardless of the prospect's age).

Social Media
At no point is it permissible for a current student-athlete to use a social media platform to entice a prospective student-athlete to attend a particular collegiate institution. Also, as a student-athlete you may not like, favorite, retweet or respond to any social media post from a prospective student-athlete regarding their verbal commitment to a particular collegiate institution.
Unofficial Visits
During a prospect's unofficial visit, it is impermissible to provide them anything of value. If you are designated as a student host for a prospect on an unofficial visit you may transport the prospect off-campus (within a 30-mile radius of campus) for entertainment purposes (not at the direction of institutional staff member); however, the prospect must pay for their own expenses.
Lodging
A prospect on an official visit may receive lodging expenses from the institution. It is permissible for the prospect to stay with a current student-athlete during the period of the official visit.
A prospect on an unofficial visit may stay on-campus with a current student-athlete provided the prospect has a pre-existing relationship (friendship started prior to high school) with the current student-athlete and the prospect pays the regular institutional rate for such lodging. To start the process, a Pre-Existing Relationship form must be completed by the prospect and current student-athlete and submitted to the Compliance Office for approval.
